And We've Hit a Speed Bump....

Today Brandon went on to week 2.. he's doing really really well, and I'm really happy that he's be able to stick with with for over a week--that's amazing for us!

As for me-- well, I have some kickin' shin splints. Awesome, right? So, I've been walking instead of running and I'm planning to just keep walking faster and faster until I can build up my tolerance for running. Right now, I'm walking 3 miles at 3.4mph. That's pretty decent for walking, but I'm really hoping to be able to run at least 1.5 miles of the 5k. If I do that, I should be able to finish the 5k between 40-50 minutes..not the 30 I was aiming for. I'm bummed, but I don't want to hurt myself. I'm still going to try to get running again, but I'm going to take it slow, and since walking doesn't hurt (not even speed walking), I'm going to keep that up! My new goal is to keep a 4.5 pace walking for 3 miles! Plus, I'm still doing ZUMBA! 2 times a week..might add another day.
